St. Charles Parish Public Schools Early Head Start

The Early Head Start Program provides services to infants, toddlers (birth to 3 years of age) and their families, residing in the West Bank River Road Corridor School communities. Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

Carver Early Learning Center 337 Gum Street Hahnville, LA 70057 Applications received after May 13, 2011 will be processed and qualified students will be placed on the waiting list and considered for enrollment as openings occur. St. Charles Public School Preschool Programs provide enrollment opportunities to eligible family regardless of race, sex, creed, national origin and disability. Eligibility is based on age and income.
