Snohomish County Head Start and Early Head Start is a free, federally funded program that provides comprehensive child development, early learning and parent support services to low-income families with children from birth to five years old.

Who is Eligible?
Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements.
Pregnant women and
children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and
families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for
services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be
eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some
grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines
as well.

We are a federally funded program providing services to families who qualify as low income and have children aged birth to five years. Our three programs consist of:
a part-day/part-year preschool for children aged three to five
a year-round preschool in childcare centers for children aged three to five, and
a home-based program for children from birth to three years old
