About This Organization

Head Start provides services in partnership with families and their children, ages three to five. Our goal is to prepare children for kindergarten and to support parents in the role as their children's first and most important teacher.

Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

How to Apply

Enrollment QuestionsWho is eligible? Families with children ages birth-5 and families expecting a baby are eligible if they meet at least one of the guidelines. Eligibility is determined for each family based on the income information submitted with the application and family size. The federal poverty guidelines are published each year in the spring. Reach-Up Inc. provides Head Start and Early Head Start for approximately 500 children in the three county area. Most sites run from September through May.
