About This Organization

The District School Board of Pasco County is a Head Start / Early Head Start grantee. Through this federally funded grant, high quality early childhood services promoting school readiness are offered to enrolled children and families from pre-birth through age 5.

Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

Once the form is submitted, you will be contacted within 2 weeks by a Pre-K Staff Member. If you have any questions, please email Alexis Russell at arussell@pasco.k12.fl.us. Minimum documents needed to complete an application: Child’s CERTIFIED Birth Certificate or other State approved proof of birth. Documentation of 4-6 WEEKS of the most current household income; recent pay stubs, 1040 tax form, SSD/SSI, employer letter, accountant’s statement, unemployment or other acceptable proof. Proof of residency in Pasco County (FL ID, driver’s license, utility bill, lease agreement, etc.) Additional documents if applicable: Child’s social security card or number. Information for other family members in the home (social security numbers and dates of birth). Child’s health insurance card (Medicaid, Kid Care or Private Insurance); Proof of WIC Proof of child
