About This Organization

NCCDI offers a wide range of preschool and childcare options for families that include Head Start and the NCCDI Educare State Preschool Programs. NCCDI contracts with both the Federal Administration on Children and Families and the California Department of Education, Child Development Division in order to serve all families through full and part day programs. Our full day programs allow families who are working, going to school or seeking employment to benefit from year round services. Our schools also provide children with state of the art learning environments enriched with innovative materials and equipment. All our preschool programs served children aged 3 and 4 years and are fully inclusive of children with disabilities or special needs.

Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.
