About This Organization

MDCA is a federally funded Head Start program that serves 3 to 5 year olds and a Baby Bright Day Care program that serves infants and toddlers.Our agency serves 607 Head Start children and we have the capacity to serve 90 newborns, 90 infants and 210 toddlers. We operate 10 centers throughout northeast Ohio. We strive for excellence by establishing comprehensive partnerships in the community and meeting the needs of special needs children and their families. MDCA's priorities involve educating parents and guardians in the fundamental skills needed to attain self-sufficiency and parental success.

Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.
