Head Start's comprehensiveness also includes a full array of support for families and children including health, dental, mental health, and nutrition services or referrals. Additionally, children receive developmental, vision, hearing, and dental screenings. Parents are encouraged to become involved in all aspects of the program, from participation in children's activities to direct involvement in policy and program decisions.
