Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma Early Head Start

The Early Head Start Program will enter into at least 4 new partnership with agencies that serve infants and toddlers with special needs.

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

Enrollment The Enrollment Division maintains all records and files on enrollment, past and present Tribal rolls, and genealogy. Applications for enrollment are processed and forwarded in the office prior to action by the Business Committee. To be eligible for enrollment in the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma, one must have a parent on the roll and have at least 1/8 Iowa of Oklahoma blood quantam.
