About This Organization

The Early Head Start Program is a Federally funded program designed to serve income eligible families who are expecting a child and/or have children ages birth to three. Teachers meet weekly with families in their homes to promote positive family health and development. In addition, families attend socialization activities twice each month.

Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

What documents do I need to bring to the appointment in order to get my child enrolled?In order to process your application for enrollment please bring the following documentation:Birth Certificates for all children in the familyCurrent Immunizations Family or child’s Medical/Insurance CardSocial Security Card Income verification for one full monthSingle Parent status verification (if applicable) IEP/ IFSP (if applicable)
