About This Organization

Early Head Start Serves pregnant women, children ages birth to three and their families. Services include prenatal education, health and nutrition services, family development support, and home visits focusing on child development and quality early education. Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

Families are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

Application Information The following information is needed to determine your child’s eligibility for Early Head Start: Initial Application Forms (Click to download) Prenatal Application Form (English) Prenatal Application Form (Spanish) Verification of Child’s age Birth certificate, hospital certificate or medical coupon Verification of Income W2 form, pay stubs, TANF or SSI documentation for either the last 12 months or the last calendar year. Please return these items to: 1111 Cornwall Ave. Suite 200, Bellingham, WA 98225 If your child has special needs Please provide documentation such as a letter from a physician or therapist or a copy of medical or therapy reports.
