About This Organization

Choanoke Area Development Association of NC, Inc. (CADA) is accepting applications for the 2012-2013 program year. The CADA Head Start Program serves children that are three and four years old. The Early Head Start Program serves expectant families and children birth-three. The centers are located in Bertie, Halifax, Hertford, and Northampton Counties. Some Early head Start children are served through the home-based option. For additional information, to schedule an appointment, or to apply, contact the CADA Head Start Program at 252-539-4155 between the hours of 9-4 on Monday-Thursday.

Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

How to Apply

EnrollIf you would like to enroll your child in the Early Head Start program, go to one of the centers listed or the CADA administrative office on Highway 258 in Rich Square to fill out an application. To have an application mailed to you, you may call any of the centers listed on the back of our brochure or call the CADA administrative office at (252) 539-4155.The Early Head Start program has 3 program options:Expectant Families Option Center Based Toddler Option Home Based Option
