About This Organization

Our Head Start program promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families. We engage parents in their children's learning and help them in making progress toward their educational, literacy, and employment goals.

Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

How to Apply

EnrollmentAvailable slots fill quickly and Head Start performance standards dictate that we accept children with the greatest need, first. It is very important that you contact us as soon as possible so that we can begin the enrollment process.Head Start provides enrollment of eligible children regardless of race, sex, creed, color, national origin, or disabling conditions. 1) Families are required to provide income verification such as: (A) Two (2) consecutive check stubs (B) Current W-2 form or income tax return (C) Pell Grant information (if attending college or vo- tech) (D) TEA or SSI (E) Social Security (F) Unemployment (G) Child Support (H) Other income (if applicable) 2)Proof of Birth (Child’s legal birth certificate, hospital record, or physician’s record)
