About This Organization

CCS Early Learning is a private nonprofit organization, incorporated in 1971 as Chugiak Children's Services, Inc., that has been providing quality child development programs in Southcentral Alaska for 38 years. Now doing business as CCS Early Learning, we have established our reputation in the field as a high-performing organization that designs and delivers innovative services to children aged birth to five and their families.

Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

Families are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

You can download and fill out an applications and mail or drop off the application to you local CCS Center. A copy of a birth certificate and immunization record will also be needed at the time of enrollment.
