Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

How to Apply

Registration Requirements Registration for the 2013-2014 school year will begin February 20, 2013. Applications are taken daily from 9:30 - 1:30. Items needed to apply are as follows: *Child's Certified Birth Certificate *Up-to-date Shot Record *Social Security Card *2012 Proof of Income: 1040 Income Tax Packet, TANF Verification, Social Security Income, SSI, Child Support, and any other source of income. *Current Food Stamp Award Letter *Current Medicaid Card *Picture ID or Drivers License *Proof of Residency in Beaumont *Complete Medical and Dental Screenings with lab work for 2013
