About This Organization

Welcome to Head Start! We have a very fun and exciting year planned for you and your child. We welcome parents to come into Decker and volunteer. We also encourage parents to get involved in Policy Committee by atttending meetings and being a room representative for your child's classroom. We have many Parent Trainings scheduled for this school year on a variety of subjects. Please check your calendar for dates and times of these trainings. We recognize and value that as parents you are your child's first and most influential teacher- make sure you read to your child everyday! Together we will make this a great year!

Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

Families are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

Enrollment We are currently enrolling eligible 3,4 and 5 year old children. Please stop by Decker to fill out an application for Head Start. We need the following documents: 1. Birth Certificate 2. Shot Record 3. Income Verification (2011 Tax Return, OWF, SSI, Child Support verification, Unemployment) 4. Child's Social Security Card 5. Child's Insurance Card 6.
