About This Organization

Head Start: Family must meet federal income guidelines for acceptance into the program. A typical day begins at 8:50 am and operates until 1:50 PM. The program operates from September through June and is available for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years. Families have no fees with this program.

Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.

Families are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

Please fill out the following information and click on submit at the end of the form. A staff member will call you for additional information and to direct you the child care center nearest you to complete the enrollment process. At that time please bring to your scheduled interview: proof of income, child's birth certificate, child's social security card, health insurance card, physical exam with immunization, and dental exam results or proof of a dental appointment.
