About This Organization

The NEON Child Development Program provides quality early learning services to over 500 children ages 15 Months to 5 years and their families, each year in 2 NAEYC Accredited sites in Norwalk. The Program operates a variety of programs including Head Start, School Readiness, State Child Day Care and Infant/Toddler Care. This full-day/full-year program provides comprehensive early childhood/family centered services that include health, social, and educational activities. Fees are sliding-scale and Care 4 Kids is accepted. Its full time staff includes professionals in the fields of health, nutrition, mental health, social services, and education.

Who is Eligible?

Head Start generally serves children ages 3 to 5 who meet local eligibility requirements. Pregnant women and children from birth to 3 years of age are eligible for Early Head Start services. Children and families who are homeless, in foster care, or receive TANF or SSI are also eligible for services. Eligibility is determined by Head Start program staff and some families may be eligible for services if they are determined to be at or below the federal poverty level. Some grantees enroll a percentage of children from families with incomes above the Poverty Guidelines as well.
