About / How to Apply

Early Head Start Registration Registration for Early Head Start is held throughout the program year. All low-income families, teen mothers/fathers, and families of infants or toddlers with special needs living in Alexandria are invited to register. Infants and Toddlers are accepted into Early Head Start based on income eligibility and the needs of the family, and are ranked according to a point system (link to point system) to ensure that the children of families with the most need, and especially, teen mothers/fathers with infants or toddlers, are served by the program. If a family who qualifies for Early Head Start services (based on income eligibility and need) is not accepted due to limited space in the program, they will be offered a space on the waiting list (based on point ranking) for that year. For registration information, contact Leslie Yamnicky at (703) 549-0111 x107.
