My son who is now 40 yrs old attended what was then called the West Tampa #1 Ms. D. McCloud was an African American teacher there at the time, and a strong , down to earth lady who loved the kids there & enjoyed coming to work at what is now known as the McCloud ctr after her tragic death. My son who attended head start there had exactly that -a great head start & now works for USF college of Public Health. As a man he STILL talks about his days at the center as a boy. Kids leaving there are smart as a whip!
