To apply for your child you will need to come to the Head Start office at W. C. Handy School and bring with you:
Your child's social security card
Certified birth certificate
Your child's immunization record (blue card)
WIC Card
Medicaid or other insurance car
Verification of family income

W. C. Handy School was built on the property that originally belonged to W. C. Handy's family. William Christopher Handy came to the dedication of the school in 1952 and visited several other times.
